Hundreds of Kellogg's workers have walked off the job to protest long working hours and unfair benefits structures at the company.

This strike follows on the heels of and was possibly inspired by a successful strike by John Deere workers earlier this year in which they were able to negotiate more favorable terms and better working conditions. Across the United States, more and more workers have started to realize that they've been getting an increasingly worse deal for several years now and it seems that people are getting sick of it.

Labor movements are often spurred on in the aftermath of a major pandemic. It makes sense, since these kinds of events tend to emphasize how short life is, and often also create shortages in the labor pool that allow workers more leverage to negotiate.
