Dubai is a place where anything can happen, so long as you have the money to afford it. Want to ski in the middle of the desert? Sure, you can do it with our indoor ski range. Ride a camel? Of course you can do that. Wear a bikini? Uh, that’s where we’re going to have a few issues.

See, Dubai is located in the United Arab Emirates, a country overflowing with oil and lacking in certain rights to which the rest of us are accustomed. While you *can* wear a bikini top in Dubai in certain places, you’re definitely going to get a lot of looks — which is why this dude apparently bought his wife an island just so she could wear a bikini without judgment.

At least, that’s what she says. If I had to guess, this is actually the coast of Mahé in the Seychelles, which is admittedly one of the world’s most expensive vacation destinations. Believe it or not, I think most people would rather just live in a place where they don’t need a private island to show their stomach.
